SmartLipo Cost Differences

Smartlipo cost is a difficult question to answer.

In general, Smartlipo will be less expensive than other types of invasive liposuction, since I do all of my Smartlipo in the office with just local anesthesia and possibly an oral sedation pill. Since I am not giving you any IV’s there is no need to pay for an anesthesiologist. You will still be very comfortable. In addition, there is no need for you to pay for a surgicenter or hospital Operating Room.

I have positioned my prices just slightly above or the same as other experienced plastic surgeons. I have not done any surveys on this, but this is just my impression from the patients that come to see me.

You can definitely get it cheaper, if you don’t care if a board certified plastic surgeon does your case. I have now done well over 530 Smartlipo cases in the office as of September. By the time you read this, the numbers will be higher since I do a number of these every week. You need to decide if you want a non surgeon, with almost certainly much less experience doing your Smartlipo. Even cheaper still, you can find someone who cannot attract patients through their experience, skill and reputation, so they will do a Groupon. You should ask yourself, when the fees are super low and Groupon takes a huge part of the fee, why is the doctor doing this? Is your liposuction and other surgical procedures, really where you want to hunt for the cheapest price?

Smartlipo will likely be more expensive than the non invasive procedures that claim to magically melt the fat through the skin. I have seen a number of dissatisfied patients with these procedures.

Moreover, ask yourself, what could possible be more of a direct attack on fat cells – direct contact with a fiber optic laser fiber that melts the fat. The fat is then sucked out. Or some magical waves that go through your skin (remember the skin thickness varies greatly from person to person and from area to area – contrast the skin thickness on your inner thighs versus on your love handles) and melts just the right amount of fat and does it evenly. Remember you need to leave some fat behind and it needs to be smooth.
